This virtual three-part workshop series offers a systematic, guided approach to developing competitive proposals for grants and fellowships in the creative arts, humanities, social sciences, and education (CASSHE) disciplines.
Across three interactive two-hour sessions, participants will work through key stages of proposal development, applying concepts and exercises directly to their own projects. The series addresses the entire process of developing a fundable idea and proposal: identifying funding opportunities, understanding what funders are looking for, articulating the significance of a project, and creating a proposal that reviewers can readily understand and advocate for.
Participants will also have access to weekly virtual office hours during the program. These informal sessions provide additional opportunities to ask questions, discuss works in progress, troubleshoot proposal challenges, and receive guidance as you apply the workshop material to your own project.

Barbara Endemaño Walker, Ph.D., is Director of Strategic Research Initiatives in the Office of Research and Special Assistant for Academic Initiatives in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). She leads national initiatives that build institutional and individual scholar capacity for CASSHE research development and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is a founding board member and treasurer of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals, and she currently serves on the National Science Foundation’s Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering.
Holly E.
